Unlocking A Chance To Be Her Own Boss

Staff Reporter

Tinkering with locks and keys may not always tickle a woman's fancy, but for Lakeside resident Sandra Murray it's an industry that has unlocked a chance to be her own boss.

Murray began working as a locksmith more than 14 years ago and, after six-and-a-half years, went on to selling locks and keys.

Then she decided to go it on her own, and with the help of Red Door in Table View, Murray registered her business last month, drew up a business plan and will soon be registered with the government database of locksmiths.

"I just happened to discuss my business with people who knew Red Door in Table View and that is how I approached them," she said.
